Unable to change resolution for Intel HD 2500 in Yosemite

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just installed Yosemite 10.10.1 Niresh following his guide available here.

Now everything is working fine except for the graphics card GPU is only showing a resolution of 1024x768 whereas I have a monitor which supports 1440x900

Here are my system details:

  1. Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G2030 @ 3.00GHz
  2. GPU: Intel HD Graphics 2500 [8086:0152] (rev 09)

Here is what my system information says about the Graphics Card:

Type:    GPU

  Bus:    Built-In

  VRAM (Total):    5 MB

  VRAM (Dynamic, Max):    10

  Vendor:    Intel (0x8086)

  Device ID:    0x0152

  Revision ID:    0x0009

Kernel Extension Info:    No Kext Loaded

  Displays:

Display:

  Resolution:    1280 x 1024

  Pixel Depth:    32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

  Main Display:    Yes

  Mirror:    Off

  Online:    Yes

Now my question is that is there a way to increase the resolution in Yosemite or any other version of Hackintosh.

I am also seeing that the screen is a bit laggy and choppy. I have tried many things but have not been able to fix this issue.

Also note that my Screen is connected to the CPU via a VGA cable as my screen does not have a HDMI port and the only port is VGA available.

I would request some of you experts to guide me in resolving this issue, even if it means that I need to change the OS X version.

I have also read that HD 2500 is not supported but I have seen on other forums that some users are having higher screen resolutions on the same GPU, is it because of the VGA connection.
