Unable to extract files from "Essential.pkg" while installing Yosemite 10.10.1 distro

Recommended Posts

I have Intel i3 haswell laptop with inbuilt HD 4400 graphics. I am unable to install Yosemite Zone.dmg from the USB to one of my hard drive partitions. A message is showing “An error occurred while extracting files from the package “Essential.pkg”. Quit the Installer to restart your computer and try again.”  I want to know what is causing the error.  Why it is occurring everytime while extracting files from the package? How to prevent it? Please suggest.
