Finally got everything installed and working, even our Radeon 7850 graphics cards :) Seems to be smooth sailing so far, thanks for everyone's help!

So your 7850 is providing full acceleration ?

I mean do you have any graphical glitches using safari or when launchpad is open ? I had these problems with my PC (Still Unsolved)

Perhaps you can help me. I've been trying all night. I've installed maverick 8 different times trying out different things and different boot flags.

My Specs:

AMD Phenom II x4 CPU

M5A99X EVO Asus Motherboard with UEFI

GTX 660ti GPU

32GB RAM

My Problem:I can get Mavericks to boot up after installing just fine, but I can't get past the welcome screen. The system freezes everytime I try to set it up. I first thought my mouse and keyboard weren't working, but then I made it as far as "Finding a Network" and "Creating a User" and when I made it there, the spinning loading circles both froze. And everytime I try booting into safe mode (-x) I get the apple logo with a ban circle (circle with a slash through it) right on top of the apple and then proceeds to load forever.

I've tried both amd and amd64 for launching the Niresh Installer and both times they've installed just fine and booted into Mavericks just fine, but the setup screen still froze.

I've tried a combination of numerous flags

USBBusFix=yes

PCIRootUID=0

cpus=1

-x (this just doesn't work at all and when combined with -v it says "still waiting for root device")

I've tried customizing the install numerous ways, installing graphics, removing graphics, removing laptop touchpad kext and enabling other boot options. And everytime the welcome screen just freezes. Nothing changes it.

Hello:

I had the same problem off the start. Try to match my bios settings as close as possible, or even message me or post your bios settings and I will try to help you.

Thanks.

Success!  :)

As you know when you enter in bios on our motherboard for AHCI it says if 1-4 data port is set to AHCI then the 5 and 6 are also set to AHCI, so i just plug out from IDE port, it was in port 2 i think and put in AHCI port,

now it see my dvd drive  :) ,  Thank you so much.

Now officially everything works on my AMD HACKINTOSH 10.9!!! :D  :D  :D

Success as well... Not new to the hackintosh, just upgraded from 10.5.6.. no new hardware just upgraded the OS to Mavericks using Niresh USB install... Everything seems to work fine with little bugs here and there such as:

1) Time -- seems to be fluctuating between right and wrong.  I keep having to set it back to EST, just gave up on it...

2) Residual windows -- sometimes opening "About this Mac" leaves a residual window behind which cannot be closed

3) Can't add DoD root certs to KeyChain -- locks up and stops responding

4) Mouse / keyboard have difficulties working after computer sleeps.... --- I just disabled sleep but

Not sure of any other problems, the Niresh install worked perfectly straight out the box, I guess when I start installing my software I'll be in for a shock.. but overall, I think it's great!!

Setup

AMD Anth x64

ASROCK A780GXE

6GB RAM @ 1066

NVIDIA 9800GT

4x160GB Seagate Barracuda 7k drives

Standard USB Key/Mouse

AHCI BIOS

(she's old, but blazing fast for what she's doing these days)

I read in this forum elsewhere that the 9800GT wouldn't work as there are no kexts for it?  It seems to work fine for me at the moment... but then again, I haven't installed the applications I use on this either.. I do a lot of digital photo editing so I use photoshop and lightroom...

Thank you a lot for the BIOS settings. I would never install OS X without it.

I should mention, that CPU and DRAM voltage settings from your screenshots are very important too. I skipped it, because I was sure it can't affect the installation process. But it affect, because my installation crashed several times untill I applied these settings and everything went perfect.

P.S. I had an issue - my PC freezed completely (I couldn't even move my mouse) after about 30 seconds after loading the system. But booting with "UseKernelCache=No" for the first time fixed it. Everything works excellent. Success!

Hello Stragen, i have got the same system as you! But the Link to your settings in Bios is broken, can you send me the setting for bios?
Or does someone else have the pictures of the changes in BIOS from STRAGEN?

Thanx a lot

For the Asus m4a87td

"C1E Support" might need to be disabled in the CPU Configuration bios section, otherwise a ioapic hang might occur.

Yosemite blows the Asus m4a87td inbuilt usb power away on wake up from sleep (it can't seem to reset the usb section of the SB850 chip after sleep), so install a USB2 PCI card or a USB3 PCIe card that's compatible with OSX (preferably a NEC chip card or whatever) and disable inbuilt USB in the bios, and sleep and usb should work.

I booted Yosemite Niresh off a usb stick using

/amd64 -v -x npci=0x3000 pci=off

The Bronya Yosemite kernel works great.
