Mavericks with Dual-SLi composite (2x GTX760)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

This is my current setup:

- CPU: Intel i5 3570k
- Graphic Card: 2x NVIDIA (Gainward branded) GTX 760 in Dual-SLi.
- Motherboard: AsRock Z77 Extreme 4
- Chipset: Intel Z77
- Ethernet: Broadcom BCM57781
- Audio Card: Creative Soundblaster Z

Is it possible to run Mavericks 10.9 with it?
I wonder if OS X works with a SLi composite.

I talked to Niresh a long time ago and he said: Yes it works.

After some weeks I tried it and it wasn't working that well.

The Installation worked perfectly. But the first boot didn't showed up anything on the screen.

I mean, if SLi is not supported, it's not a big problem, But I dont want to remove the connector from my GPUs everytime to boot OS X.

Does anybody got an idea to help me solving this?

Greetings from germany,

Dominik

PS: Sorry if this thread is one of many. Didn't found something similliar in time.

Hi,

I am not sure if I can help you. I have a PC set up with two GTX 460 connected with an SLI Connector.

In Windows 7 (booted from a different HD) I have SLI without a flaw.

My Maverick 10.9.5 Installation recognises BOTH Graphic cards but apparently they are NOT in SLI modus. I have one Monitor connected to each graphic card Both Monitors are working as they should (expanded display). It is not necessary to remove the SLI Connector in OSX. However I think SLI is not possible with OSX 10.7 or 10.8 or 10.9

My Hardware:

Intel Z68 Motherboard with I7 2600K Sandy Bridge Processor not over clocked

Realtec ALC 982 Sound

Dual Intel PCI Ethernet/WLAN/Bluetooth/FaceVsion N1 Cam

Eye TV Hybrid Digital and Analog TV

16 GB RAM

2x GTX 460 Graphic Cards, 2x 2412H Displays

120 GB SSD

2 TB HD

Clover Bootloader 2953
