Flash bios & upgrade amd processor on maverics

Recommended Posts

hello everyone,

i have niresh mavericks 10.9 already installed and running great on amd.

motherboard: asus m2n68 se2 socket am2+ NO DSDT available
processor: amd athlon le1640
ram : 2gb ddr2
graphics : geforce 210

now i want to upgrade my processor to dual core. and before that i've to update bios.

  • if i just go on and flash bios + replace the procesor, will i lose hackinosh and all data in it?
  • if yes, what precautions are required before i do so.
  • even if after bios flash & upgrading processor i am able to boot hackintosh will it show the new processor automatically? or do i have to do something for mavericks to recognise new processor.

please guide me what should be pre requisites so that i dont mess up current installation of hackintosh, and bios with processor upgrade would work fine.
