Nerish Maverick from dvd cause can't build USB stick

Recommended Posts

Hey people,

I am trying to install Nerish Mavericks from a DVD.

Main reason I am going with DVD is cause I couldn´t restore the DMG to a USB stick (not on my previously fully working Mountain Lion hackintosh and on windows)

so now I have tried installing but somehow I get the message The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying

Eventually I got the installation to boot, but it failed at about 9 minutes remaining....

I clicked restart, but it wasn't booting.

First I got a "mach_kernel" not found message when booting from harddrive, later on it seemed like the bootloader was fully gone !

Now I can't even get the setup to start.

I tried bootflags -v -f -x and even mach_kernel....still no go!

I am trying to install on an:

Acer Aspire 5720G-1A1G16Mi, which I altered a little.

It has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5 GHz

I upgraded the RAM to 4GB, placed a bigger harddrive in there (500GB)

I replaced the graphics card with a 512MB GeForce 8600M and replaced the intel WiFi card with a natively supported Atheros one (can't remember the exact chip...but it's the one that's nativly supported on Aitkos ML2 )

please help....

Ok, so after a bit of fiddling around I got this to work.

Now for the hard part.... is it possible to change the Chameleon Niresh theme to something more plain?

I found this wonderful mavericks looking Chameleon boot loader theme.

I found some stuff on the internet on how to change this stuff, but somehow I can't get my theme to show up.
