Recommended Posts

Hello! I just installed Niresh 10.9.0 distro on my PC:

MSI 970A-G46

AMD Phenom II X4 960T unlocked 6 cores

Radeon HD6870

And it is working, but i want to change/update the kernel because the system feels choppy but i dont know how to do this.. i tried tutorials on this site etc. but any does not seems to change kernel used by system. Can someone tell me how to do this properly? Thanks for any help!

Follow this tutorial: http://ihackintosh.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-to-upgrade-kernel-in-osx86.html Download the new kernel, place it to the desktop and name it mach_kernel, then type the commands in the terminal one by one. I successfully changed kernel this way.

Yeah i finally changed kernel and now the system don't want to start :E I will do a fresh installation but i have a question. After installing fresh 10.9.0 should i update it to 10.9.3 and then change kernel? Shouldn't be there any problems? I heard that people needed to rollback some kext but i don't know what is it about, it is my first hackintosh :) It would be really great getting Mavericks to work smooth.
