MacPwn Yosemite Installer 16 minutes remaining...

Question

Hi all, sorry about the title.

My problem is that after starting the OSX Yosemite installer, the time remaining is 16 minutes - and it has been for about an hour now. I dont think its making any progress at all...

I'm using a Lenovo Z580, Intel i5 3210m, 6GB RAM - Which previously has Mountain Lion installed. I used MacPwn for Yosemite to create the installer. It doesn't freeze because I can still use the mouse and move it around on screen ??

Any help anyone ??

Thanks everyone !!

Okay, well I sorted it out myself so anyone who might ever have this problem;

1) Restart your PC and boot the Installer with whatever flags - I didn't need any.

2) Go Utilities>Disk Utility

3) Select your Partition, then click verify disk. After that, click repair disk, found in the lower right of the box.

4) Install onto your partition :)

I have the same stuck installer. I tried verify and repair, didn't do anything. Eventually there was a reported error of stuck trying to install essentials pkg. So, any other ideas? thanks johnm

I've had that before and I've normally fixed it by remaking the installer, make it using MacPwn if you're not already :)

Maybe someone can help me. I created USB using MacPwn. Problem is it never gives me "Customize" button, so I'm not able to create installer the way my hardware requires. Also command line options text length is limited and I cannot type in all my options.

    • Sierra installed without any issue, but cannot get GT620 to work. Installed Cuda and Webdriver and boots without issues, but home screen wallpaper disappears and screen becomes black. Is this card supported on Sierra?

    • Hello! I wanted to install MacOS High Sierra, but the SSD does not appear in Disk Manager. I have a Samsung Pro 840 250GB. Is there a Driver for Intel Gigabit 82579LM Network LAN for MacOS High Sierra?
    • This is my very first post and have looked around the forums to my question but I wasn't able to find the exact specifics that I need. This is my very first windows/mac dual boot project. I chose to attempt high sierra and I hope I am posting in the correct area. High Sierra seemed to be the newest that is possibly more stable than Mojave so I chose that. I'm reaching out to the more advanced builders and experienced people. I'm currently running Win 10 as of now and bought a separate SSD to install a macOS on. Before I invest time and energy into this. I'm wanting to get the best recommendations on what OS I should choose , if my hardware will be up for the task and my best plan of attack. I'll be honest I'm not ready to bang my head on the keyboard for hours. I've been there and done that.  My hardware was some of the best at its time in 2011 and I'm not 100% confident it will work with a more up to date macOS I'm also concerned about drivers for my GPU.  All input is welcomed   Here are my current specs:   CPU
