XFX R9-280X not being identified!

Question

Hey guyz please help, I have an FX-8350 CPU and XFX R9-280X GPU but I cannot get graphics acceleration out of my GPU! In -v mode once there was a Vbios error! My GPU has uefi bios on-board (its written on the box) so can that be a reason that my GPU is not getting accelerated?

My GPU gets detected by mavericks in -v mode as "AMD Tahiti graphics accelerator in slot 1" but when I boot up to desktop in system information it says Graphics:Display(7 MB) What should I do?

Hey I installed clover and atleast I get some name for my GPU but still no QE/CI coz it says Vram(Total)-7MB whereas I have 3GB!!

That means it's a frame buffer issue! How to resolve?

Yeah man you are right! Its a kext issue! I don't have AMD radeon accelerator.kext and ati7xxxcontroller.kext but I installed them perfectly, so why isn't it showing up?

And which kexts are you talking about?

By the way can you please detail about kext installation, maybe I would be doing it wrong! Thanks

Will this vanilla install method work for my build,

FX 8350 CPU

M5A99FX pro r2.0

XFX R9-280X?

Should I put kexts for my GPU during installation of macpwn or after OSX installation!?

while making installer don't select option of backup graphics extensions/kexts

make sure you have selected AMDFX kernel.

I had this problem with yosemite , xfx r9 280 dd black oc edition so what i did was dumped my gpu bios then checked it with vbe7 tool and wrote the subsystem id  down.

downloaded Asus HD 7950 3072 bios from techpowerup and changed the the subsystem id to the one i wrote down

Then save the bios, then flashed it with atiwinflash.

booted up and it was perfect  :) gl.

    • I don't think the ten series work yet on Mojave, I have a Ryzen with a GTX 1050 and I'm staying in High Sierra for now.

I have tried High Sierra and Sierra with no good luck. I had it installed once before but the issue was I couldn't boot into it, of course, lol.   Now I can't seem to get the installer to boot, but can get to the bootloader to enter flags. I've tried npci=0x2000  nv_disable=1 -v -f -x which ends up just crashing the thing and it says it's exiting.    I'm really trying to get this to work, I'm sick of Windows always having updates and dumb issues. My timezone won't even work right lol What?    Please let me know what other info you need so I can get this loaded!   PS: Tonymac banned me for discussing "illegal distributions" or using one or some crap like that... was a member for like 5 years. Really crappy of them. Not sure what they're even talking about. No warnings or anything. I think because I mentioned another site they got pissed lol
    • I now see that my wifi adapter doesn't work as it's Intel.  I purchased USB-AC53 Nano which works, but handoff, even with functioning Bluetooth and wifi doesn't work.  Suggestions?
    • @Niresh is there any work around for graphics for the gt1030 on dell optiplex 760?
    • @Niresh - my apologies for the delay.  I didn't see this until now.  I've made quite a bit of headway and am up and running except for my wifi from what I can tell.  Is this something you can help with?  As to the specs:   https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/servicetag/6bx4y52/configuration   Thanks so much!
