Broadcom Netlink Gigabit onboard network

Recommended Posts

I will start with the requisite I am completely new to this.  After messing with things for a few days, I finally have my system dual booting windows 8.1 and Mavericks.  I believe I will have a few components that do not work but first and foremost the first thing that jumped out at me is that I had no network interface being discovered by the system.  It is much easier fixing other things when you can access the internet so this is the first thing I am trying to address.  I have tried everything I can think of with everything I can find that says Broadcom but no luck.  I have taken a slight step backwards actually as now if I try to go under network and add anything either manually or using the assistant I get the colorful spinning thing that never goes away and I have to force quit the network action.  Any insight is much appreciated and sorry if I don't get it the first time around as I said a lot of the terminology is new to me.  Thanks!
