horrificsquid 0 Posted March 2 Not sure if I can post this here or if there is a different general forum (couldn't find it), but I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I have recently acquired a dual booting Lenovo ideapad Z500 laptop. It is stable and I am generally happy with it; apart from the fact that the 1tb hard-drive, which I’m assuming is the original factory fitted one, is so unbelievably slow. Therefore, I want to upgrade the hard-drive to a SSD. I built my dual booting PC a few years ago now so I’m a bit rusty on-the-whole dual booting/hackintosh setup stuff. Also, I believe there are differences from PCs and Laptops in this regard. In an ideal world, I would like to just clone the original drive onto a new SSD (copying absolutely everything including EFI, clover boot stuff etc.). So I can clone the original to the new and just unplug old put in new and everything works. Is that possible or am I dreaming? Will there be an issue that the Hard-Drive is 1tb and the SSD will most likely be 500gb? I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you for your time.
