High Sierra on Acer Laptop

Recommended Posts

Hello Community,

I need your help. Since August i'm trying to install macOS/Hackintosh on my Acer Laptop with these specs:

CPU: Intel Pentium N3170

Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce 910M & Intel HD Graphics

But i can't even get to Clover (most of the time. Sometimes it worked)

Thanks for everyone who is going to help me

@LukaAfton Enable CSM in BIOS boot in legacy mode, Keep pressing number 2 while your computer boot (Actually when it boots from USB), it will load Chameleon instead of Clover, Use Chameleon to install macOS.

@Niresh Didn't work. I don't have a CSM Option. I keep getting the "Acer" Boot Logo. Also in UEFI Mode.

@LukaAfton Is there any option to boot in legacy mode in your BIOS?

@Niresh Yes, i'm always booting in Legacy Mode. But it ends with the same result, the acer Logo

@LukaAfton Connect Pen drive in windows, in EFI folder delete file name boot then rename boot2 as boot

If you have correctly configured bios, High Sierra will boot automatically, so check your BIOS Settings

@Niresh I have everything correct in my BIOS. I will test the thing with the EFI Folder. You're sure its nothing about my CPU? I have read alot that the Intel Pentium Series is not compatible.

I think N3170 has SSE 4.1 support, as far as it has SSE4.1 it can load High Sierra.

@Niresh It has SSE 4.1 support. But it still starts a bootloop when i try to boot from the USB Stick. I will try another one. I will also try a different macOS. I'm a Fan of Mavericks so maybe that will work.
