Kernel panic when starting installer - elliottforcelegacyrtc.kext

Recommended Posts

I am using Niresh Lion 10.7.3 V2 installer using DVD. Right away, when the installer boots up, I get a kernel panic for elliottforcelegacyrtc.kext. The machine I have is an HP 6510B laptop, with an X3100 GPU, 1.5gb RAM, and 40gb hard drive. Does anyone know how to fix it, to remove elliottforcelegacyrtc.kext? (in the DVD, there is no "extensions" directory in /system/library)

I have used Niresh Mountain Lion 10.8.2 installer, and the 10.8.2 installer works, and doesn't give me a kernel panic (booting up the install, and post-installation). I need to have an older version of Mac OSX though because 64-bit Kexts are not available for the X3100 GPU (so QE and CI are not supported in newer OS's higher than Lion).

Thank you!
