  1. Hackintosh: Install El Capitan with Windows 10 in a specific partition I would like to install El Capitan OS in dual boot with my windows 10. Can I do it without format the HDD and then keeping my Windows, and creating only a partition where I will install El Capitan OS? Or I should format the whole HDD, losing my Recovery Partition? Thanks.
  2. Hi there, not sure where to post this, but I figured here would at least be best. Running OS X and Windows 7, all of a sudden, Windows will not boot, not in Safe mode, or any other F8 option other than startup repair. Any one know any way to fix this? New to this whole thing, and just looking for some answers. Thank you for any responses
  3. Hello guys!I've always been intrigued by how it could run OSX on a PC and now out of curiosity I tried to install Yosemite on my Asus F550C.Now the problem is in the partitions.Whenever I try to format or install OSX on one partition the disk utility tells me about insufficient space on disk. After doing some research I finally discovered that the space is lacking on the EFI partition which is of 100mbPartition (efi) that can not figure out how to expand, because on windows is almost untouchable (tested various sw) and with gparted I have no idea how to move.I'd like to keep intact recovery partition and the partition of windows. As I had done in the past with LinuxI put the screen below, the efi is the partition sda1.I hope some of you can help me!And sorry for my english! 5. I have been trying to install Yosemite on a hardrive partition on my dell Inspiron laptop. I installed it however when trying to boot I get an error: boot0ss: error. I now just want to get back to windows however I have no idea how to select which hd partition it boots from. I can only choose to boot from hd or usb. I have seen some solutions which include changing settings in the os but since I have no running os I can't do that. How do I boot windows again?

  7. Hi, So I noticed that on the newest Yosemite install guide it looks like Niresh(?) is installing Yosemite to a separate partition. Also, he's selecting the format that he says is most similar to Windows. Does this mean it can be installed on a separate partition and be dual booted with Windows? Thanks, rekrom12
  8. Hi everyone, I am having trouble dual booting windows and niresh mavericks. I have to partition my hard drive into 3 partitions because, my hard drive is 3TB. Mavericks does not run if a partition is over 1 TB. Anyway I use niresh mavericks disk utility to format my hard drive as the following: First partition is formatted as mac os extended, the second partition is formatted as MS-DOS (FAT) as a GUID partition also, the third partition is formatted as free space, When I install mavericks on the first partition I go and try to install Windows on the second partition. However, it says windows can't be installed in that partition because it is not formatted as a GUID partition even if I did format it as so. Or I also try to install windows first and try to install the other partition for mavericks but it doesn't let me. I have even tried to format it into 2 partitions with windows but still mavericks won't let me format the other partition for mavericks. It gives me an error or just says preparing to partition and stays like that forever. I have tried everything to try and install them but, I have not managed to do it. If someone could help me fix this? Thanks.

  10. Hi Niresh, Please help me get my Partition and Data recovered. I have created an unallocated space using Disk Management before Installing Mac OS 10.9. And while performing Erase in Disk Utility unfortunately I have selected my windows drive and has formatted it. Doing so suddenly I turned of my system and checked my partition in windows in which I use to save all the Data, the partition was lost as well as Data. So kindly help me get my Data back. Please help me ASAP. Thanks, Chiranjeevi.
