  1. Mountain Lion 10.8.5 on VirtualBox Hello folks I'm new to Hackintosh, and maybe someone could help me. I'm trying to install Mountain Lion 10.8.5 (Niresh's release) as a virtual machine on Oracle VirtualBox (version: VirtualBox-5.0.20-106931-Win). The OS on my host machine is WIndows 8.1 x64. The specs of my machine (I made two screenshots, as my machine is a laptop with dual graphics, in one you can seel the Intel HD graphics card, in the other one the AMD Radeon): The specs of the virtual machine are as follows: No matter what I do, it doesn't even finish booting, it always hangs at the following message: I googled as much as possible, as far as I found out, FakeSMC is responsible for tricking MacOSX into believing it is being installed on a MAC, right? How can that even be that it finds a physical SMC when my computer is definitely not an Apple and on top of that I don't even bott into my physical PC but into a virtual machine? What I've tried so far: - disabling my AMD graphics card in device manager (shouldn't be an issue anyway since VirtualBox fakes another graphics card anyway, but who knows...) - tried booting in safe mode as per your site "Debugging your Hackintosh" - tried both ncpi=0x3000 / ncpi=0x2000 boot flags - tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes / No (both options) - tried PCIRootUID=1/ PCIRootUID=0 What else could I try? Treid googling of course, but didn't found a solution to my specific problem, neither on the net in general nor on your page specifically. Any help is greatly appreciated, and I thank everyone who takes the time to read my post. bm
  2. Hi, guys! I installed the Niresh12495-OSX-10.8-USB version into my Toshiba Satellite C855-S5214. This laptop originally comes with an Intel B970 processor, but I changed it to a Pentium 2030M for virtualization support (VT-x) and upgraded to 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM. I also changed out the half pci-e wifi to an Atheros AR9280 for native OS X support and added an iOmega Bluetooth 4.0 USB dongle, which is also natively supported so long as EHCI loads properly. Now that i stated all the mods, I guess I can now ask: How can I properly update to 10.8.5 without failing the update installation? LOL I attached the installer log, so hopefully someone can help me figure out what I should do. I know that you may ask, "Why didn't you just use Niresh 10.8.5?" The reason I didn't, although I tried, is that the 10.8 version is automagically giving me 771 MB of VRAM under Intel HD Graphics (based on HD 2500) for this processor whereas the 10.8.5 distro is giving me a black screen or whatever else it may do and I have no idea where to begin to fix that. LOL I've been going on all this for about a week now. The SMBIOS for this 10.8 install was automatically generated as a MacPro3,1. So, outside of all that crap that I wrote, again I ask: How can I properly update to 10.8.5 without failing the update installation? Thanks for any and all assistance or suggestions you may give and sorry for all the writing. Just trying to be somewhat detailed. LOL Very respectfully, Ricky Installer Log 5-Oct-2015.txt smbios.plist org.chameleon.Boot.plist

  4. Hello, I managed to install Niresh's 10.8.5 on a HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF. But it won't boot neither with Clover nor Chameleon. I have to boot the Installer (using the DSDT.aml file from the installer) first from the USB stick and then the hard disk installation using the option "-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No". I am wondering how can I get the DSDT.aml file from the Installer in order to use it with Chameleon. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers, Ph.

  9. Hello! I have an "Packard Bell Easynote TE69HW" based on Intel. I've recently downloaded the USB Version of OS X 10.8.5 (Niresh). And whenever i try to boot the Installer it freezes on the Apple Logo! I've waited for it to come but nothing happened. When i try to boot the installer with some flags, i only get this "Kernel Panic" that read lots of files then performs this "reboot loop". Please Help me! If someone reply i would be really thankful! 14. Hello everyone, To make a long story short A long time ago i installed Niresh hackintosh 10.7 edition on my PC and it eventually updated itself to version 10.7.5 and to this day i'm very happy with it. Now though i would like to upgrade to 10.8.5 or Mavericks if possible. Before i go about and completely install everything new, i want to try and upgrade what i have installed now. I'm looking for advice as to how to do this, which trajectory should i take? Are there any specific issues i should take into consideration and prepare for? I would be very thankful if someone could help me out a little here! Thanks.

    Installing 10.8.5

Hey everyone, I have wanted to install Mac OS X on my PC for a while now and have tried and tried and never got it to work because I only buy AMD . I recently tried with 10.8.2 and couldn't get it to boot properly but now with 10.8.5 I was so excited and relieved to see the installer finally load and let me install. The problem that I am running into is that I get all the way through the setup process and then it starts installing, at about 6 mins it hangs for probably 10 minutes and then starts going again and eventually I get an error that says Install Failed: we could not install on your machine and it only gives me the option to restart. I am using Niresh 10.8.5 with amd64 -v at boot. I have my specs listed below in my signature. I am trying to install this beside a Windows 8 partition so my 1TB HD is partitioned into 2 500GB partitions, one Windows 8 and the other for Mac OS X. The only thing I don't remember doing that I read in the guide is to make the Mac OS X partition a GUID table but I couldn't find the option for it when erasing. If anyone has any advice I would love to finally get this installed . Thanks, Brandon
  16. Hello everybody, I am new to this forum so forgive me if I will commit some errors. I've installed Niresh OSX some times before, and I always have the same problem: installation works fine, but my screen resolution is no more than 1280x1024. Then I go to update my system with Apple Store, and when I reboot i get a good 1920x1080 resolution, but I have no more network. I've already tried to use some methods searching with Google, installing kexts for my network card (Marvell Yukon 88e8053, drivers for 88e8056 are also good), but nothing worked. In the earlier installations, I used the 10.8.2 distro. Now I switched to the 10.8.5, and I've seen that for Audio and network there's Auto Install. So, my question is: can I update normally from Apple Store and rebooting with an improved resolution AND have my network still working, or do I have to do something else?
