  1. Hi all I currently trying to install Niresh's 10.9 distro onto my HP Pavilion 14-b030tu Ultrabook but im encountering a few problems I have created the Clover install USB using BootDiskUtility on Windows and have also restored the Niresh 10.9 image to another USB using Transmac. Currently what happens is -If i disable secure boot and enable legacy boot (CSM), When i try and boot Cloverx64.efi and Bootx64.efi using the EFI Manager, Clover never loads and gets stuck on the black screen with a infinetly flashing cursor -If i try and directly boot the installer usb with legacy boot enabled it just says that there is no bootable disk inserted -If i disable both secure boot and legacy boot (CSM), Clover immediately loads but doesnt detect the 2nd USB with the Niresh 10.9 image along with the HP Boot Selection Menu regardless of whatever USB port i plug it into. I have tried restoring the image to another USB but it still has the same problem Does anyone have any idea on how i can fix this problem?
  2. Hi All I currently have a HP Pavilion 14-b030tu Sleekbook which i found out that can run Hackintosh. After doing extensive research, i have found a DSDT for a HP Pavilion 14-b042tu which has exactly the same hardware as the b030tu but the only thing that is different between both of them is the CPU. His is a i3 3217u while mine is a i5-3317u. I have contacted the guy who made the DSDT and he said that i should create my own one as there may be differences. I also currently have a DSDT that i created with AIDA64 Extreme in Windows 8. What i want to know is how can i extract the edits that he has done in his DSDT and how can i implement them into my one? Thanks ==================================== Under his blog it says that his DSDT.aml includes -DTGP, IRQS, RTC, SMBUS, LPC,HPET, EHCI and XHCI fixes -FN keys -HD4000 -HDEF -Battery level -Backlight Brightness (Auto Adjust + HotKeys) -Restoration of original brightness levels after sleep
  3. Hi Community Since i successfully got 10.8.2 working on my external hdd i have a few questions before i make the move to mavericks 1) Kexts: I found a kext for my Realtek RTS5208 Card Reader but it is only for Lion. Is there a way i can port the existing kext/patch to mavericks? 2) Switchable Graphics: Since the 6770 is currently working in mavericks with full QE/CI how can i enable switchable graphics between my Intel HD 3000 and my Radeon 6770m 3) Hotkeys: Without a proper DSDT is there a way to get hotkeys working? Is it possible to enable hotkeys through editing com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist? 4) Boot Times: How can i speed up the boot times of my hackintosh without having to install a ssd Thanks all for your help
  4. To anyone who reads this in the future BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directorymeans that your installation did not complete correctly. Switch to another device and it will be fine
  5. added usekernelcache=yes and -v to com.apple.boot.plist and com.chameleon.boot.plist under kernel flags but it still hast the same problem if i try and boot the usb using the disc then there is no problem
  6. This is what happens when i boot using the usb i created with bootdiskutility. Tried running -v -x noapic cpus=1 but it still has the same problem. Also how come i cant type any boot commands into the clover screen where i select my hdd?
  7. -x doesnt do crap, still gets stuck in the same place as the picture -f -v allows me to get past the BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory but now it gets stuck at BootCacheControl: Added 32bit kernel cache to the lowest priority batch. BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCaches/PreheatedUser/Merged.playlist: 2 no such file or directory BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache/PreheatedUser/Login.playlist: 2 no such file or directory BootCacheControl: Added 32bit kernel cache to the lowest priority batch Any ideas?
  8. 1) Are you connecting and extra monitor to the laptop? And is your BIOS Flashed ? No i have not connected a extra monitor and yes the bios is flashed with a whitelisted one 2) It says only says BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory. -Do you have any links to different versions of fakesmc that i can try? -My BIOS is not UEFI and the bootloader never installs correctly for some reader because i always get boot0:error so i always try and boot the usb using the native bootloader on niresh's 10.8.2 instsall cd
  9. Hi All I have a problem after installing Niresh's 10.8.2 on my HP Pavilion DV6-6023TX to a Lexar 16GB USB (MBR). I can boot up the installation without any flags except -v and everything installs ok but the thing is when i try and boot up post installation it always stops at the line BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory This is what happens when i try and boot with -x I have tried reparing permissions and regenerating a new kext cache but it still has the same problem. Does anyone have any idea on how i can fix this problem Laptop Specs: -CPU: Intel i5 2410M -Memory: 4GB -Graphics: Intel HD 3000 + ATI Radeon 6770m Thanks
