Maybe you can give me detailed instructions on how you installed and got this to work on an AMD Athlon II X2 240

I would appreciate it.

Just to be clear about this....

First we must download and install the Combo update to Yosemite 10.10.4 and

without rebooting we must replace the kernel with the one you provide here....right?

Isn't this the procedure?

Please respond....

It is exactly what i did.

Combo Update install a new kernel but it isn't for AMD processors. once you install it you sould boot using a pendrive or a backup partition to replace the old kernel by this new one.

I have an AMD Phenom II X4, R9 270X, Gigabyte motherboard and it works well

QUESTION

Ok i've got the combo update  and the Package 10.10.4

Now I'm fine with installing the combo update and installing the 3 .kext files that are in the Package 10.10.4 folder (using the kext wizard) my problem is replacing the kernel.  I don't see any kernel in my Yosemite installation. I have a cache kernel in my Mavericks installation which I guess it's the same thing but in my Yosemite installation there is not kernel so how do I replace it with the old one. Where is the old one.

Please help me

The only thing in my System/Library/Kernels is kernel.backup

Found the kernel in System/Library/Kernels. it's hidden.

Didn't work. Attached is pic of what I got

note both attachments are the same screen shot

Hi!

I don't understand what do you mean.  You can download the kernel just up this page. Apply combo patch and then replace old kernel (the kernel that combo update will install on your PC) by this new one.

Good Luck!
